I'm working to develop a site for low-literacy adults in Albuquerque, with local news and information.

In the county that Albuquerque is in, Bernalillo, an estimated 14 percent lack basic prose literacy in English, according to the 2003 National Assessment of Adult Literacy. That equates to almost 67,000 adults. The state as a whole places low in many education rankings.

In the meantime, I'm working as a fill-in copy editor at the Albuquerque Journal and taking classes in digital media and geographic information systems, at Central New Mexico Community College.
